During your personal tasting experience I will guide you through the distinctive world of Bulgarian wines. Although Bulgaria has been producing wine for 5000 years it is still relatively unknown to the rest of the world. Now a rising new generation of Bulgarian boutique winemakers are devoted to the craft and bringing new attention to our country. You will taste 5 wine varieties of local grapes unique to Bulgaria, that can not be found anywhere else: Miskets, Melnik, Mavrud, Gumza and Rubin. Plus, local cheeses, artisanal bread and mineral water. The tasting is held in one of the best boutique wine shops in Sofia – Tempus Vini, which is located on an artsy street in the city center, known for its fine restaurants and boutiques. And just a few streets away from Sofia’s main pedestrian boulevard. During the tasting I can tell you about the wine regions of Bulgaria including the history and the wine culture of my beautiful country. All tastings are held in English or Bulgarian

5Unique good wine experience
As a wine lover who travels the world tasting wine, I was surprised when I found out that Bulgaria makes wine, booked this tour and it was a great introduction to bulgarian wines and a little bit of their history, the tour guide which is also a wine maker is very knowledgeable and introduced me to very unique good wines that you won’t find in any restaurant in Bulgaria or anywhere outside of the country; if you are visiting sofia and like wine this is a must do experience, im definitely going back for some more wine before leaving the country
5Highly recommended - Great quality wines
We had an amazing tasting experience with Kalin. The 5 wines were all different and all excellent 👌 We weren't just given the standard mass produced wines found in supermarkets. The history and description of the terroir for the various regions was really well done. 3 paired cheeses and this was a really great experience. Highly recommended.
5Wonderful
Everything was wonderful. We tasted 5 very good wines, each with its own characteristics. We were explained about each one separately. And the cheeses were good. We even bought some of the wine we tasted, because we couldn't resist. The host is very nice.
5Amazing Wine Testing and Bulgarian Wine Making History
We did the wine testing and it was a great experience. Kalin gave us a super interesting lesson on Bulgarian wine making history, wine testing and cheese paring. We also order several bottles to be delivered to Denmark, and they arrived in little over a week. Great experience, highly recommended.

About Sofia
Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, lies below Vitosha mountain, mixing Roman ruins, golden-domed churches, mineral springs and a busy café culture.
Sofia sits in a high basin at the foot of Mount Vitosha, and its centre layers Roman Serdica, Orthodox Bulgaria and the Ottoman and Soviet eras.
