Villa de Leyva has always been very popular among tourists. Not only it has some of the most well-preserved colonial architecture in the country, but the city is rich in history, archeology, and surrounded by striking natural beauty.
Guided visit at Raquira Town of pottery crafters
These mineral-rich pools reflect a blue-green sky on a clear day: a wonderful contrast to the surrounding semi-desert and pine-forests. These artificial water-reservoirs are too mineral-rich to bathe in or drink, but beautiful to contemplate.
You will get to the Paleontological Museums, as the valley where Villa de Leyva is located is rich in fossils from the Cretaceous era. The story goes that a kid digging in his backyard tumbled into the first fossils.

About Bogotá
Bogotá, Colombia's capital, sits high in the Andes at around 2,600 metres, with a colonial old quarter, a famed gold museum and a hilltop church.
