The main attractions are the fishing village, coconut trees on the shore and one of the most beautiful chains of dunes on the coast. In addition to its natural beauty, Cumbuco beach offers a perfect infrastructure for those who want to relax without worries, with numerous points with fresh water showers, restaurants and snack options. Fortaleza, the capital of Ceará on Brazil's north-east coast, is a warm beach city with a long waterfront and wind-swept dunes on both sides.

Fortaleza spreads along the Atlantic under a sun that shines most of the year. Praia de Iracema, the old port district turned nightlife quarter, leads to the Beira Mar promenade, where an evening craft fair sets up under the palms. Nearby are the Dragão do Mar arts centre, the neo-Gothic cathedral and the Mercado Central, a multi-storey market for lace, leather and cashew nuts.
