Humble Administrator’s Garden (Zhuozheng Garden) is the most famous classical garden in Suzhou, showcasing China’s ancient garden artistry at its finest. Travelers will wander through a dreamlike maze of pavilions, zigzag bridges, and hidden courtyards—each turn revealing exquisite craftsmanship. About Suzhou

Suzhou, an old canal city west of Shanghai, is known for its classical gardens, whitewashed houses and stone bridges over narrow canals.

Suzhou has been a centre of wealth and culture for more than two thousand years, and its scholars and wealthy families built gardens as private retreats. Nine of them are inscribed by UNESCO, among them the Humble Administrator's Garden, the Lingering Garden and the Master of the Nets Garden, with rockeries, ponds, pavilions and zigzag corridors arranged to make small spaces seem large.
