1. This tour begins at either 10am or 2pm from our base at Brúbasecamp, Road 249, just 3km from Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. Tour Highlights include: • Eyjafjallajökull Glacier • View over Westman Islands • Goðasteinn (This is the highest point of Eyjafjallajökull at 1666m high!) • The effect of the 2010 eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano What items we recommend that you should bring with you: As we will be spending time in the unpredictable Icelandic weather, it is important to be prepared. We recommend bringing warm outdoor clothing including: • Waterproof jacket and trousers • Warm head wear, for example, a woolen hat or balaclava (balaclavas are also provided if needed) • Gloves (although we can also provide gloves if required) • Appropriate hiking boots or shoes are required • Snacks

• 3Great, but beware the pricing

  A great experience but beware the price. We paid for two adults and got one sled. Our friends on the same trip paid the same and got two sleds. No explanation, no partial refund, I did request. They need to be clear on the policy at booking.

  Incredible experience. Amazing views. The guides were great and very friendly. The ride to the sleds was as exciting as the snowmobiling.

• 5Incredible experience

  Overall, we had an incredible experience. Due to weather, they had to change the itinerary from snowmobiling to driving buggies along the tundra by the glacier. This turned out to be an amazing trip full of adventure and so many beautiful sights. I probably took 50 pictures and the sunset lasted forever.. The guides were excellent, and we felt very taken care of and safe.

• 5Phenomenal

  We ended up not being able to snowmobile due to lack of snow in Iceland! The Southcoast adventure tour team lead was awesome and got us in another tour right away! So helpful and accommodating, we ended up doing a 2.5 hour buggy tour and couldn’t recommend it more! Our tour guide was a ranger as well as search and rescue, so felt very safe but also was able to see the coolest terrain! The buggy’s were absolutely phenomenal as well as the landscape. Would recommend to anyone coming to Iceland

• 5Magical Must-Do!

  If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure in Iceland, snowmobiling on Eyjafjallajökull is a must-do experience! We were fortunate enough to have clear skies and minimal wind, making for the perfect day in one of the most breathtaking locations on Earth. The entire experience was seamless and exhilarating from start to finish. My husband and I were equipped with ski pants, jackets, snow boots, and heated gloves, which kept us nice and toasty. They provided us with balaclavas, helmets, and goggles, which were super comfy and did a great job of keeping the cold at bay. We were also given the option to wear an extra suit over our ski wear, but the guides assured us it wasn’t necessary—and we were perfectly fine without it. If the wind had picked up, though, I would’ve opted for the extra layer. The journey started with a thrilling ride in a super jeep up to the mountain, offering us amazing views along the way. We ventured into a remote area with fresh, untouched snow, which made the experience feel even more special. It was just us and a couple of other guests, with four amazing guides who ensured our safety and comfort while making sure we had the time of our lives. The snowmobiles were easy to handle after a quick lesson, and before we knew it, we were off. Riding through the pristine snow with stunning views of the ocean and surrounding mountains was surreal. At first, we drove in a line to get the hang of the snowmobiles, but then we split up, allowing for a more personal and immersive experience. The entire tour felt very private, and it was great to have so much freedom to enjoy the surroundings. The guides were incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, sharing interesting facts about the area while also ensuring everyone had fun. We had the best time, and I can’t recommend this experience enough. If you're looking for a truly magical way to explore Iceland, snowmobiling on Eyjafjallajökull is an absolute must!

• 5A Must Do

  What a fun outing on the snowmobiles. The team had the process down perfectly from outfitting us with needed snow suits, the education on the use of the snowmobiles and the fun ride up to the ride spot. We had a good day to use the snowmobiles and the guide gave us chances to go over various hills, turns and slopes. We had double rider mobiles for our family and the guide gave chances to take pictures and switch drivers along the way. The truck taking us up to the ride location was just as cool, an added bonus.

About Vík

Vík í Mýrdal is a small village on Iceland's south coast beside black sand, sea stacks and puffin cliffs, with a glacier-capped volcano above.

Vík í Mýrdal is the southernmost village on the Icelandic mainland, set on a green slope above a long beach, with a small red-roofed church on the hill. The Mýrdalsjökull ice cap, which covers the Katla volcano, fills the horizon to the north, and the sea stacks of Reynisdrangar rise out of the water off the beach.
