Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress in central Sri Lanka, famous for its massive granite rock rising about 200 meters above the surrounding plains. About Bentota

Bentota is a palm-fringed beach town on Sri Lanka's south-west coast, where a wide river meets the sea and temples, turtles and mangroves lie close by.

Bentota lies on the south-west coast of Sri Lanka, where the Bentota River reaches the sea beside a long, wide beach of pale sand fringed with coconut palms. A narrow strip of land separates the sea from the river's estuary, so surf and calm water lie side by side, and fishermen work with cast nets and small boats. The coast road and railway run along the shore between Colombo and Galle.
