1. Here we will start the tour and give you an introduction of the Rooftop tour and explain more about the interesting history of rooftops in Rotterdam.

2. This third rooftop is in total 2 kilometers long and therefore the longest rooftop of the Netherlands. It's an old train track which was and will be converted in an elevated park.

3. The second rooftop you will visit is a rooftop garden which was rewarded 'the Best Rooftop of the Netherlands.' Its a marvelous green rooftop with chickens, vegetables and fruits.

4. The first rooftop you will visit is the rooftop of the NH Atlanta hotel on the Coolsingel. This rooftop gives you a spectaculair view of the Coolsingel with the city hall and the old Post Office. Your guide will share with you examples of new uses of rooftops in the city.

5. The fourth rooftop is situated in the most central part of the city centre and provides an impressive view on the medieval Laurenschurch. This rooftop has a social use. Here your guide will share with you the transformation Rotterdam has undergone in the past 70 years.

6. In the Old harbor of Rotterdam you will go up the White House and enjoy a mind blowing view on the Maas river, the cube houses and the entire city centre of Rotterdam. This is the place where your rooftop tour will end.

• 5Sneakers ON! An absolutely fantastic tour!

  An absolutely fantastic tour! Our guide made the whole experience incredibly engaging and exciting, bringing Rotterdam’s architecture and history to life. You definitely need to be prepared to walk, as the tour lasts around two and a half hours, but it is absolutely worth it. You get to discover the city from four truly unique and unforgettable viewpoints, each offering a completely different perspective of Rotterdam. Highly recommended!

• 5Out of the Box Fun!

  This was really gun and something out of the box. Cas is a terrific tour guide. If you want to see Rotterdam from on high this is the tour for you!

• 5Lovely Tour with a great Guide, amazing Views and interesting Informations about the City and the Buildings

  5/5! We booked the english Rooftop-Tour and Anne-Marie was our Guide. She spoke english well and even as non-native speakers, we were easily able to follow her explanations. She is a local artist and gave many informations beside the main theme of rooftops in the city. The tour was fantastic. We visited four different roofs with unique settings and 3/4 Roofs were only accecsable for tours. Anne-Marie gave us much information about how the city changed (especially after WW2) and what the city needs to do in the future (climate change, space, living..). The Tour was about 5km, each bulding had an elevator and a bunch of steps. We liked the Farm-Roof most - to see chicken on a rooftop was funny. The Tour infos combines city-planning and sightseeing topics and you visit some spots, you probably want to visit, when you're in rotterdam (oudehave, de witte huis, rotterdam central station, cube houses...) and Anne-Marie took her time to explain some more information about the buildings. She even showed us some street art on the way, because we met the artist on our way (Anne-Marie seemed to know him well). For us it was the perfect tour for our weekend trip. And the views were totally amazing.

• 5Sneaky great tour!

  This tour felt like a hidden gem. We got way more than we imagined out of it (including lots of miles walked). Our guide, Ton, was so knowledgeable, and the views were breathtaking and educational. What a great way to experience Rotterdam!

About Rotterdam

Rotterdam is a modern Dutch port city rebuilt after 1940, known for bold architecture, a huge harbour, the Cube Houses, a market hall and waterfront views.

Rotterdam was bombed in May 1940 and rebuilt in a modern style, so it is unlike the old canal towns of the Netherlands: glass towers, bridges and daring architecture line the Nieuwe Maas river, which is crossed by the white Erasmus Bridge. It has Europe's largest seaport, and the harbour can be toured by boat. Delfshaven, a small quarter of old canals that survived the bombs, is where the Pilgrim Fathers left in 1620.
