The journey continues deep into the jungles of Maui, where each turn in the road reveals a new scenic overlook. Nearing the half way point is the Ke’anae Peninsula, which boast some of the best views on Maui. The mid-way stop is at one of the highway’s best roadside stands, aptly called the Halfway to Hana Stand. About Maui
Maui is the Hawaiian island of golden beaches, the Haleakalā volcano and the winding Road to Hana, with humpback whales offshore in winter.
Maui is the second-largest Hawaiian island, formed by two volcanic mountains joined by a low isthmus. Haleakalā, a vast dormant volcano rising over 3,000 metres, has a crater of coloured cinder and is famed for its sunrises and starry skies. The beaches of Kāʻanapali and Kapalua on the west face the sunset, and Wailea and Makena on the south coast have calm golden bays.
