St. Mary's Church is a landmark edifice, a Roman Catholic church in the heart of Negombo. It is one of the largest cathedrals in Sri Lanka. The church was built in neoclassicism style with columns and plain walls. Its ceilings are painted with alabaster images of many saints.
In the heart of the city of Negombo, in Sri Lanka’s Western Province, the Angurukaramulla Temple is known for the dragon-head that guards its entrance and its six-metre-tall statue of Lord Buddha. About Negombo
Negombo is a laid-back fishing town on Sri Lanka's west coast near the main airport, with a palm-fringed beach, a lagoon and Dutch-era canals.
Negombo's long beach is lined with guesthouses, cafés and seafood restaurants, and outrigger canoes and fishing boats pull up on the sand each morning. The fish market, one of the busiest on the island, spreads its catch out to dry in the sun along the shore, a vivid scene of traders and gulls.
