Ouarzazate is a kasbah town in southern Morocco at the foot of the High Atlas, known as a gateway to the desert and a centre of film-making.

Ouarzazate lies on a high, dry plain south of the High Atlas, where the road over the Tizi n'Tichka pass from Marrakech meets the valleys that lead on to the Draa and the Dades.
