The excursion starts from Sorrento and continues along the coast of Massa Lubrense to Punta Campanella, the extreme edge of the Sorrento peninsula. About Sorrento
Sorrento perches on cliffs above the Bay of Naples, a charming lemon-scented town that makes an easy base for Capri, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast.
The town's centre is Piazza Tasso, from which narrow lanes run past churches, shops selling limoncello and inlaid woodwork, and the peaceful cloister of San Francesco. Steps and lifts lead down the cliffs to Marina Piccola, where the boats leave, and to Marina Grande, a fishing harbour with seafood restaurants right by the water.
