4Plovdiv walking tour
Great way to learn more about the amazing city of Plovdiv. Our guide Martyn was speaking perfect English and was very knowledgeable about the architecture, buildings, churches and ruins of the old town. I just wished the tour could have covered a bit more ground in the two hours, we were only moving around in a 500m circle when there are so many more great places in close proximity. Also a very big group size for the price.
5Very nice Plovdiv tour!
Very good guide and the group was also a good size, Martin was great, spoke clearly, gave good information and kept the group moving along. A great way to see important sights in Plovdiv!
5Learning Bulgarian history through the lens of Plovdiv
Our guide, Desi, was excellent. She is both knowledgeable and personable.
4A good trip to Plodiv
The guide had good command of English and spoke well and clearly. The general balance of the talk and free time after was satisfactory
2Bus ride way too hot! (32C)
The return bus ride was uncomfortably hot. After boarding the bus in Plovdiv, the temperature inside the bus was 32C/90F. 30 minutes later, and after being on the road for 20 minutes, the temperature had only dropped 1 degree to 31C. Texted the operator at +359 89 440 4141 and got no response. I do not recommend this inattentive operator.
5Great tour to discover Plovdiv

About Plovdiv
Plovdiv, in southern Bulgaria, is a city of hills, Roman ruins and a Revival-era old town, long settled on the plain of the Maritsa River.
Plovdiv rises around several rocky hills above the Maritsa plain, and people have lived here since prehistory. The Roman theatre of Philippopolis, dug out of a hillside and still used for concerts, and the remains of the Roman stadium under the main pedestrian street are the best-known relics. Above them the cobbled old town is lined with nineteenth-century merchants' houses with colourful, overhanging upper storeys.
Top-ranked sights in Plovdiv: Plovdiv Old Town (Stari Grad), Plovdiv Roman Theater (Ancient Theater of Philippopolis), Bachkovo Monastery.
