5. The Chalk Hill heritage started with the arrival of John Harvey to Adelaide in 1839 when there were around 6,000 people living in Adelaide. John was the second person to plant grapevines north of Adelaide, preceding the birth of the Barossa and Clare wine growing regions. Six generations and 185 years later, the Harvey family continue their grape growing and winemaking heritage in McLaren Vale with Chalk Hill. The site is also shared with Never Never Gin distillery and Cucina de Strada offering an array of classic Italian dishes such as arancini, and have a vast selection of paninis and sweet Italian treats, and coffee. It's truly a wonderful way to conclude a day in McLaren Vale!

Set in the front bedroom of an old historic home Lino Ramble may be small on space but big on incredible wines and stories with lots of character from their fantastic wine maker Andy, it's a unique experience not to be missed. About Adelaide

Adelaide is a relaxed, green capital of South Australia, laid out as a grid inside a ring of parkland, with wine country and beaches close by.

Colonel William Light planned Adelaide in 1837 as a tidy grid of streets and five squares, then circled it with the parklands that still separate the centre from the suburbs. North Terrace lines up the state library, art gallery, museum and university, and the Torrens River runs through the middle, with the Adelaide Oval on its bank. Rundle Mall and the Central Market cover shopping and food.
