1. After our expert guide pick you up at your hotel, we will take about 1h30 until the amazing castle of Almourol. On the river Tagus, this particular castle has really advanced arquitecture for the period. Here we will take a small boat that takes 2 minutes until we reach the castle.

6. The Convent of Christ and the Templar Castle. The oldest, the castle was built by Gualdim Pais in 1160 in the image of the Middle East castles. The amazing Castle was the home of the Knights Templar until the 14th century, from then on the Convent was built and serve as home and sacred protection.

About Coimbra

Coimbra is a hill city on the Mondego River in central Portugal, home to a centuries-old university, a baroque library and its own style of fado.

Coimbra rises above the Mondego River in central Portugal and was the country's capital in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. Its university, founded in 1290 and settled in Coimbra from 1537, is the oldest in Portugal, and the old campus on the hill is a UNESCO site with the gilded Joanina Library and a tall clock tower. Students still wear black academic capes.
