하이라이트

Experience real rural Japan near Hiroshima. Travel by local train, harvest garden vegetables, cook authentic dishes with a local family, and share a homemade meal in the countryside. This garden-to-table cooking experience takes place at a family home just outside Hiroshima City. You’ll cook with fresh vegetables grown by your hosts, along with seasonal herbs, fruits, and handmade preserved foods, while learning about everyday Japanese rural food culture. Ideal for travelers who have already explored cities like Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, this experience offers a refreshing change of pace. The scenic local train ride through rice fields, mountains, and rivers is part of the journey. You’ll be welcomed into the host family’s home, where they live with their two children (ages 10 and 13). Through cooking, conversation, and time spent together, guests enjoy genuine hospitality and meaningful cultural exchange that goes beyond a typical cooking class.

About Hiroshima

Hiroshima, on Japan's Seto Inland Sea, is a rebuilt river city whose Peace Memorial Park and museum recall the atomic bombing of 1945.

Hiroshima spreads across the delta of the Ōta River, whose channels, bridges and trams give the city an open feel. The atomic bomb of 6 August 1945 destroyed most of it. The Peace Memorial Park beside the river holds the Atomic Bomb Dome, a ruined building left standing and listed by UNESCO, the Peace Memorial Museum and the Children's Peace Monument.

Top-ranked sights in Hiroshima: Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, Miyajima Island (Itsukushima).
