1. Market of Ancient Olympia, Olympia, Greece Discover the birthplace of the Olympic Games by first visiting the archeological site. You will admire the stunning view of the most famous monuments such as the ancient stadium, that hosted 40.000 spectators sited,the temple of Zeus and Hera’s and many more.

5. We visit the monastery if you want to follow the tour schedule if not we can visit another place of your choice at the same distance. The monastery is located, between the villages Lanthi and Labeti on steep rock with an amazing view of the mountain Erymanthos and the forest of Foloi.

• 5Informative and Adjustable

  A very helpful driver but we should have paid more attention as it did not include a guide inside the Olympic site, just a booklet that was hard to follow. Driver was informative and adjusted the tour to include a trip to an Olive Oil Mill (Oilympian Koufolias) instead of a honey farm. One of our folks had never seen a fig tree, so he also pulled over on the side of a road and picked fresh figs off a tree to taste.

  We booked a half day tour with Andreas Stamos. He had great communication before the trip and for the pickup. His wife Dimitra and he provided really great service. They did a great job explaining everything and the stop at the olive oil mill was very much appreciated. The car was very clean and comfortable. Great service. We would definitely recommend them to others and wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again. James

• 5A Perfect Day With Dimitra

  Dimitra was perfect. She looked after us and provided all the information that we needed. We went to Olympia and an Olive Oil Press company. Along the way she translated the information into ours, pointing out the sites as needed. She looked after us as if we were family while we were in another country and did not speak their language. I would highly recommend Dimitra as a travel guide.

• 5Wonderful experience Olympia

  We really enjoyed our tour with Cristos and Nancy. We had a larger group so two cars were needed and it worked out great as a few of us needed to get back to the ship earlier. Cristos and Nancy were super accommodating and patient. We highly recommend for people who desire to create their own itineraries.

About Katakolo

Katakolo is a small port on the west coast of the Peloponnese and the nearest harbour to ancient Olympia, where the Olympic Games began.

Katakolo sits at the tip of a small cape in the region of Elis, facing the Ionian Sea, with the island of Zakynthos visible on a clear day across the water. The port is a small waterfront of tavernas and cafés along a quay. Pyrgos, the regional town, lies a short way inland, and the coast on either side has long sandy beaches.
