We see the the home of James Joyce's wife, Nora Barnacle. The home contains a museum that attendees may wish to visit at a later stage as it cannot accommodate group entry. Entrance fee is a dontation
14th Century collegiate church where Christopher Columbas is reputed to have prayed before he set sail to discover the new lands. Stop outside to give an overview of the history.

- We meet tourists in the middle of the main square called Eyre Square, where there is a bronze statue of a writer called Padraig O Conaire and there is a panel of information in front of the statue. I will forward you a photo of same in the next email. I don't meet the tourists in their hotels.

About Galway
Galway is a harbour city on Ireland's west coast, with a pedestrian old centre, traditional music, a seaside promenade and Connemara just to the west.
Galway stands where the River Corrib meets Galway Bay, and in the Middle Ages it was ruled by fourteen merchant families known as the Tribes, who built its stone houses and quays. The Spanish Arch recalls the trade with Spain, and Eyre Square, the Latin Quarter around Shop Street and Quay Street, and the Claddagh, a former fishing village that gave its name to the Claddagh ring, form the centre. The cathedral, consecrated in 1965, stands by the river.
