1. Pickup and Wadi Hitan (Valley of the Whales) Our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo for a full-day adventure exploring Fayoum’s famous sites. The journey from Cairo to Fayoum is approximately 95 km. Today’s tour focuses on the Wadi El-Rayan Protected Area, designated in 1989. Begin with a visit to Wadi Hitan (Valley of the Whales), located about 90 km from Fayoum. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its 40-million-year-old whale skeletons, offering incredible insights into one of the greatest evolutionary mysteries: how whales evolved from land-dwelling mammals into ocean-going creatures.
