Se trata de uno de los monasterios más antiguos que continúan habitados. También se le conoce con el nombre de Monasterio de la Zarza Ardiente. Pertenece a la Iglesia ortodoxa autónoma de Monte Sinaí, dependiente de la Iglesia ortodoxa de Jerusalén. En 2002 fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco.

About Giza
Giza, on the edge of Cairo, is home to the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx and a desert plateau that has drawn travellers for thousands of years.
