This is a live virtual tour from the streets of Berlin– our professional local tour guide will meet you virtually via the Zoom app and take you on a private tour where you can ask any questions you like. The entire tour is interactive and we will be showing you relevant historical photos and videos as well to enhance the experience. The video calling software used for the tour is called Zoom. You will need to have it downloaded on your laptop, tablet or cellphone – with a connection to speakers or headphones – in order to participate in the tour. Your virtual experience begins at one of Berlin's premier, and most beautiful, art galleries – still bullet-scarred from the Second World War.
We then make our way to the dark heart of Nazi Germany at the former SS and Gestapo headquarters, and walk along the most brutal symbol of the Cold War – the Berlin Wall.
Next we head to see a fleet of Trabants – East Germany's mass-manufactured 'cardboard car'.
We then cross the border at the most famous crossing point over the Berlin Wall, where a tank standoff in 1961 had the world on the nuclear knife-edge. We end the tour at the excellent 'Black Box' exhibition.
