Gather outside the 14th-century Gothic basilica in the heart of El Born. Grab an optional takeaway specialty coffee nearby and kick off the walk through the narrow medieval alleys (Carrer del Rec and Carrer de Montcada), uncovering former merchant palaces and hidden courtyards.
Wander through the narrow medieval streets of El Born, one of Barcelona’s most characterful neighbourhoods. Along the way, discover charming squares, historic buildings, independent shops, cafés, and lively local streets while hearing stories about the neighbourhood’s past and its transformation into one of Barcelona’s most vibrant areas.
Head north toward the iconic Santa Caterina Market, famous for its wavy, mosaic-tiled roof designed by Enric Miralles. Walk inside to experience a bustling local neighborhood market, sample fresh local fruit or artisanal cured cheeses, and contrast it with the more tourist-heavy Boqueria.
