Monterrey is an industrial city in northern Mexico ringed by jagged Sierra Madre peaks, with a long central plaza, museums and roast kid on the menu.

Monterrey is the capital of the northern state of Nuevo León, a modern industrial city beneath the jagged peaks of the Sierra Madre Oriental. The Cerro de la Silla, a saddle-shaped mountain on its eastern edge, is the city's emblem.
