Group lessons with Soul Surf School are a great way to experience surfing some of our world famous breaks in a group setting. We have a number of beaches to chose from in the Byron/Lennox/Ballina area, and our team are dedicated to finding the best, fun and safest waves every day. We run the lowest ratio of instructors to surfers in the area, at 1:7 for adults and from 1:4 for little ones. This ensures that all our surfers receive plenty of attention, individual feedback and all the groms are safe in the water. We have a great range of equipment, with over 80 fun safe soft surfboards and intermediate to advanced boards that will help you to learn faster and catch lots of waves. Minimum age 13yo.

5Excellent Surf School and Fantastic Experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I discovered Soul Surf School after reading numerous positive reviews online, and I can honestly say that my experience lived up to expectations. I booked a four-day surfing course, with accommodation at the Surf House included in the price. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. The accommodation was very good, and the quality of the surfing instruction was excellent. A special shout-out goes to my coaches, Simmon, Matt and Patrick. Although I had surfed before attending the course, their expert coaching significantly improved my technique and confidence in the water. As a solo traveller, I particularly appreciated the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Despite arriving alone, I quickly felt part of the group, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Soul Surf School provides excellent coaching, a welcoming environment and a fantastic opportunity to improve your surfing skills. I would highly recommend it! Will: British solo traveller.

5Great surf school!
I booked 3 day surf lessons and the experience is unforgettable! The instructors are very good and also very kind. Everyone was able to stand up and surf for multiple times even I, as absolute beginner.

Simon and Matt were great coaches, very upbeat and professional. Highly recommend. Best to take a couple of lessons if it is your first time, it is worth it.

About Byron Bay

Byron Bay is a relaxed coastal town in northern New South Wales, with surf beaches, a historic lighthouse and the easternmost point of mainland Australia.

Cape Byron, the easternmost point of mainland Australia, has a white lighthouse from 1901 and a walking track around the headland, where dolphins swim below and humpback whales pass offshore on their winter and spring migrations. The town has a long, gently curving beach, with surfers at The Pass and quieter sand at Wategos. Offshore, the Julian Rocks marine reserve draws divers to see turtles, rays and, in season, sharks.
