Depending on when you are traveling it is important your day may be more "night" then day light". NOTE - this is not an Aurora tour. While yes it will be dark on the return to Fairbanks, the tour does not stay out later, longer waiting for the aurora . Guests should consider taking an Aurora Adventure if they are wanting to look for the Aurora. We also offer an Arctic Circle Aurora Drive Adventure. Longest time between stops is 2 hours; however, some stops will be closer. Most stops have an outhouse.

Northern Alaska Tour Company originated guided tours into Alaska's Arctic on the Dalton Highway. Guides provide not only a safe journey but share the story of Alaska's Arctic making it a memorable day.

Just one of the stops made along the way to see up close and learn about the natural and cultural history of Alaska's Arctic -- here learn of the early homesteading in Alaska and how early pioneers forged a home out in the middle of the wilderness.
The tour will stop at the Yukon River Camp both on the way north and way south. Guests can either have brought their own food to eat or purchase lunch/dinner here. Plus, guests get a chance to get out and explore the banks of the mighty Yukon River.
Celebrate reaching the Arctic Circle at Milepost 115 of the Dalton Highway -- 200 miles north of Fairbanks! All guests will earn an official Arctic Circle Certificate.

About Fairbanks
Fairbanks, in Alaska's interior, is a river town on the Chena, a gateway to the Arctic with long summer days, winter auroras and gold-rush history.
Fairbanks lies in the broad Tanana Valley of interior Alaska, on the Chena River, roughly 200 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle. It began as a trading post in 1901 and boomed after gold was found nearby in 1902; its mining past is shown at Pioneer Park, with its old buildings and sternwheeler. The University of Alaska Fairbanks is home to the Museum of the North, with Alaska Native art and natural history.
