  I had such a fantastic experience doing this Sri Lankan cookery course with Lakshani and Vinodh, especially sharing it with my young daughter. From the moment we arrived, they were incredibly warm and friendly, making us feel completely at home. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, which made it even more enjoyable for both of us. They also adjusted the menu option as we don’t eat meat - the prawn curry we made was awesome - alongside the large variety of vegetable and dhal curries and learning how to make coconut milk and roti too! We learned so much—far more than we expected! They explained each step clearly, shared helpful tips, and gave us a real insight into authentic Sri Lankan cooking. It was also wonderful how patient and encouraging they were with my daughter, making sure she felt involved and confident throughout. Overall, it was a truly memorable experience—fun, educational, and full of delicious food. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn more about Sri Lankan cuisine in such a friendly and hands-on environment. Thank you both for a wonderful day.

• 5A great cooking experience!

  Such a wonderful afternoon cooking with the absolutely delightful Lakshani and her lovely sister. We prepared the most delicious food - coconut roti, sambal, beetroot curry, devilled okra, to name a few, all in a great kitchen set up. We learnt a lot about Sri Lankan cooking and it was so much fun we didn't want to leave! Thank you!

• 5Beautiful birthday gathering in a happy, well equipped place to be!

  We had a wonderful cooking class and a very tasty Sri Lankan dinner afterwards which I have shared with my friends who have joined me for my little birthday gathering. Thank you so much to the hosts who did it in a very professional way and explained everything quite well and detailed. The contact beforehand by mobile phone was very friendly and fast! • 5Cooking tasty Sri Lanka food

  We spent a lovely morning preparing, cooking and eating Sri Lanka food at Anyone Can Cook in Bentota Sri Lanka. We started by learning how to crack open a coconut and scrapping out the coconut flesh. We used this in a number of dishes. During the roughly 4 hour session we prepared about 10 Sri Lanka dishes, which we had the pleasure of eating afterwards. Very enjoyable and informative experience.

  We have never been to a cooking class before. This class has inspired our family to experiment and introduce different spices and cooking methods to our cuisine. Would definitely recommend.

About Hikkaduwa

Hikkaduwa is a beach town on Sri Lanka's south-west coast, known for surf breaks, coral reefs and sea turtles, a short way north of Galle.

Hikkaduwa stretches along the south-west coast of Sri Lanka, a strip of palm-fringed beach lined with guesthouses, cafés and surf shops. The Hikkaduwa Marine National Park protects a coral reef offshore, seen from glass-bottomed boats and by snorkellers, and turtles come to feed in the shallows. Surfers use the reef breaks along the shore.
