하이라이트

Begin your day at the majestic Taj Mahal at sunrise to see its white marble glow. Marvel at the perfect symmetry, intricate gemstone inlays, and the serene gardens reflecting this monument of love. Afterward, take a short ride to the powerful Agra Fort, a massive red sandstone fortress. Explore its palaces and halls, and be sure to find the Musamman Burj tower, where Emperor Shah Jahan was imprisoned and spent his final years gazing at his beloved Taj Mahal in the distance. This one-day journey beautifully contrasts the Taj's poetic love with the Fort's political power, connecting them through a poignant story of empire and heartbreak.

About Agra

Agra, on the Yamuna River in northern India, is home to the Taj Mahal, the monumental Agra Fort and the Mughal ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri.

The Taj Mahal, built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, is one of the most admired buildings anywhere, its white marble changing colour from dawn to dusk. Its gardens, reflecting pools and inlaid stonework are loveliest early in the morning, and the Mehtab Bagh gardens across the river offer a calm sunset view.

Top-ranked sights in Agra: Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Tomb of I'timad-ud-Daulah.
