Step off your cruise ship in Alexandria and stand at the foot of the Great Pyramid by lunchtime. You arrive at the Giza Plateau within 2.5 hours of leaving Alexandria Port. Your Egyptologist walks you to the base of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, explains how 2.3 million stone blocks ended up here, and shares what the latest research actually shows about how it was built. You spend time at the panoramic view point for clear photos of all three Pyramids together. Then down to the Sphinx, where your guide explains the real theories about its age and purpose. Optional add-ons: entering inside the Great Pyramid, a camel ride for photos.
You continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest archaeological museum ever built. Your guide walks you through the soaring atrium past the towering statue of Ramses II, up the Grand Staircase lined with royal monuments, and into the Tutankhamun galleries where his complete collection is shown together for the first time in history. You won't rush. Linger at the gold mask as long as you want, hear the stories behind the chariots, the throne, and the canopic shrines from someone who's studied them.

This tour makes the best use of your time (especially if you only have one day available). The guide is knowledgeable and friendly, and she was able to arrange the best times to visit each attraction to avoid queues and delays, and to get the best experience.

5Excellent tour in Egypt from Alexandria to El Cairo
We had an amazing time in El Cairo. We arrived in cruise Alexandria and had an 3hour drive arriving back on time. Mai was the best guide ever, she was very knowledgeable, explain everything simple and were the best host. We had an amazing pyramids tour and then had lunch. Finalizing with the essential cottons, oils and jewelry. Highly recommended!

good overview of Alexandria, especially for first time travelers to the city. liked the museum and the exhibit of Tutankhamen. The visit to the catacombs very enlightening. It made all the places come to life by the wonderful guide we had .He and the driver made this a memorable experience.

Mai Saeed was the most amazing tour guide. She is walking encyclopedia of knowledge. She is so passionate about the history of her country! She was so helpful and never pressured us to move on. She would answer any questions sent her way. The bus driver was amazing. He put this big bus in some tight places! We appreciated the security officer traveling with us. Amazing trip all around!

About Alexandria
Alexandria, Egypt's Mediterranean port, was founded by Alexander the Great and holds Roman ruins, a harbour fort and a modern library by the sea.
Alexander the Great founded the city in 331 BC, and for centuries it was the capital of Ptolemaic Egypt, with a great library and the Pharos, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The lighthouse fell to earthquakes, and the Citadel of Qaitbay, a fifteenth-century fort on its site, now guards the harbour mouth. The Corniche runs for miles along the bay in front of tall, weather-worn apartment blocks.
