The al-Qarawiyyin mosque, a religious school / college was founded by Fatima al-Fihri in 859 with an associated school, or madrasa, which subsequently became one of the leading spiritual and educational centers of the historic Muslim world. Within this same square are the library of the University Al Qaraouiyine and madrasah of the same name (Seffarine) built by Sultan Marinid Abu Youssef in 1280. The Fez Medina is also one of the most complex labyrinth cities in the world, with houses and shops built close together along tangled streets making it near impossible for visitors to find their own way around.

About Leticia

Leticia is a town on the Amazon River at Colombia's southern tip, reachable only by air or water, with the Brazilian and Peruvian borders close by.

Leticia is the capital of the Amazonas department, on the north bank of the Amazon River where Colombia, Brazil and Peru meet. No road links it to the rest of Colombia, so people arrive by plane or by boat. It runs straight into the Brazilian town of Tabatinga, with no obvious boundary in the streets, and a short boat ride crosses the river to Peru.
