Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park located within the Resorts World Sentosa integrated resort at Sentosa in Singapore. It features 28 rides, shows, and attractions in seven themed zones. It is one of the five Universal Studios theme parks around the world.With your day pass to Universal Studios Singapore, enjoy a variety of Hollywood-themed entertainment, from roller coasters to shows. Movie-themed rides include Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure® and TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle. It was a key component of the Genting Singapore's bid for the right to build Singapore's second integrated resort (IR). On 8 December 2006, the Singapore government announced that the consortium had won the bid. Construction of the theme park and the rest of the resort started on 19 April 2007.

About Sentosa
Sentosa is Singapore's resort island, a short hop from the mainland by cable car, boardwalk or monorail, with beaches, theme parks and an old fort.
Sentosa is a small island off the south coast of Singapore, reached by a causeway, boardwalk, cable car and monorail. It was once a British military base called Pulau Blakang Mati, and it took the name Sentosa, Malay for peace and tranquillity, in the early 1970s. Fort Siloso, a coastal gun battery on the western side, has restored tunnels and gun emplacements.
