5Highly recommend!
This tour was a great way to learn about Māori culture and the efforts to keep it alive. Our guide was knowledgeable and we had a great time talking with the artisans in the school. The geysers were going off quite a bit while we were there. I highly recommend this tour to learn about Māori culture!
5Great Experience!
Wonderful experience! My family and I enjoyed the tour and our guide was amazing.
5A definite must to do
We did both the cultural experience and the Haka show. Cody was our guide and he is a breath of fresh air. Very energetic, very informative, and very funny. He never stopped asking if we had questions, took photos as required and was just excellent. My knowledge of the Māori culture was minimal but I am now very interested and will learn more. The Haka is synonymous with rugby as I know it, but the meaning of it and its history was great to hear
5Amazing Experience
Te Puia was an amazing experience, combining Māori culture, storytelling, delicious food, and a spectacular evening atmosphere. The performances were engaging and the whole experience felt authentic and memorable. Highly recommended!
5A great tour !
Very informative guides, lovely scenery & amazing natural beauty- so iconic. Tour experience & entertainment was great
4Haka ceremony not long...
Haka ceremony not long enough but still awesome. Geothermals are good to see but not exceptional. Art n craft area is good to watch for a bit but again nothing exceptional.

About Rotorua
Rotorua is a geothermal city on New Zealand's North Island, with steaming vents, bubbling mud, a lake and a strong Māori culture.
Rotorua sits on the shore of Lake Rotorua in the centre of the North Island, a city built on a volcanic plateau where steam rises from vents in parks and by the roadside and the smell of sulphur hangs in the air. The Te Arawa people have lived here for centuries, and their culture is visible in carved meeting houses, performances and the living village of Whakarewarewa, where residents cook food in natural steam.
Top-ranked sights in Rotorua: Lake Rotorua, Te Puia, Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland.
