5Amazing Experience – Highly Recommended!
I joined the surf camp from August 12th, 2026, and I had an amazing week! The whole Cornish Wave team is absolutely lovely, welcoming, friendly and always there to help. As for the campsite, I really have nothing negative to say: everything was clean, well-maintained and very well equipped. I felt really comfortable there. I mainly had my surf lessons with Willow, who is an excellent coach. You can really see how much he loves what he does and how passionate he is about the ocean and surfing. He shared so much knowledge with us, gave us great advice and, most importantly, always encouraged us to improve and become better surfers. A huge thank you to him! And a little message for French people who might be hesitating to join because of their level of English: GO FOR IT! 🇫🇷🇬🇧 I’m French and my English wasn’t very good before coming here. I was a little worried that I wouldn’t understand everything or that I wouldn’t be able to fit in. But the whole team really made an effort to make sure I could understand, participate and interact with everyone. In the end, the language was absolutely not a barrier. We quickly became a real team and, by the end of the camp, it genuinely felt like we were all one big team, no matter what language we spoke or where we came from. ❤️ From the very first evening, everyone is brought together over pizza 🍕. It was a great opportunity to get to know everyone and also chat with the other coaches, especially Luca and Joe, who were also super nice! Honestly, I have absolutely nothing negative to say. I really loved this experience and if I had to do it all over again, I definitely would! 🏄♀️🌊 Thank you to the whole Cornish Wave team for such an amazing experience! ❤️
4Great wild camping and amazing instructors
Please be advised that this is not a glamping, but more a wild camping. We were a bit taken aback when we discovered that, but the experience and camp was great either way. The surf and yoga instructors were amazing, super friendly and patient with us beginners. The instructions and planning were not always very clear: when and where to go, at what time etc. That could improve a bit. All in all, we had an amazing time and would come again!
5Gotta do it, trust.
I had a really awesome experience with this program. Our instructor was Jake and he’s a great guy, super invested in the development of everyone’s skill and has great advice, and Zoey our Yoga instructor a really amazing instructor as well. The camp grounds are beautiful and the tent are very spacious. All around amazing adventure, thanks to the team 🙏🤙
5Fantastic Weekend away
Absolutely fantastic weekend in Cornwall. The campsite is gorgeous and the facilities are really good. Our guides Victor and Willow could not be more helpful and made the trip really fun. Victor was an excellent surf instructor and Aimee's yoga classes were peaceful and serene - just what you needed after surfing.
5A perfect weekend
Absolutely loved very minute - 5 star all round! Everything was so well organised with great communication. Facilities were fantastic; so nicely designed with a rustic charm. The instructors and staff were utterly brilliant, at camp and in store. Jake our surf instructor was awesome - so encouraging, such a laugh and catered to all our abilities. He made us all feel so welcome and well looked after in camp 🤙🏻 Aimee’s yoga was the perfect compliment to surfing, with her choice of flow to suit us all, down to her invaluable words of wisdom and kindness. She brought such a warmth - well and truly one of the girls 🙏🏼 Just to add to the adventure it’s defo worth trying Coasteering! Scaling rocks and leaping off was so heart wrenching but really fun! Matt was super chilled out, fun and let you choose your comfort level :) Was blessed to meet the loveliest group of women to share the weekend with - strangers who became friends. Couldn’t have wished for a better birthday - being sang to in the sea, giggling over cake by the fire and having adrenaline highs - huge thank you! ❤️
5The best weekend trying something new!
I booked onto the surf, yoga and wild camping weekend with Cornish Wave last minute as a solo female traveller and had absolutely no idea what to expect given I've never surfed or done yoga before, but I had the best time! The wild camping was an experience in itself (my first time using a compostable toilet!) and the campsite was so peaceful and really well equipped. Surfing was great fun, and our instructors (Matt and Jake) were really friendly, helpful and patient. Aimee was also a brilliant yoga instructor and it was really something quite special to do yoga in the woods in the yoga shala. I had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this weekend break to anyone.

About Newquay
Newquay is a surf town and seaside resort on Cornwall's north coast, with long Atlantic beaches, a working harbour and cliff-top walks.
Newquay sits on Cornwall's north coast, where Atlantic swell rolls onto a string of sandy beaches. Fistral Beach, facing west, is the town's famous surf beach, and Towan, Great Western and Lusty Glaze are smaller coves between the headlands. The harbour holds fishing boats and the Huer's Hut, a whitewashed lookout from which watchers once signalled the arrival of pilchard shoals.
