About Punta del Este

Punta del Este is Uruguay's main seaside resort, on a peninsula where the River Plate meets the Atlantic, with a yacht harbour and a giant sculpted hand.

Punta del Este occupies a narrow peninsula on Uruguay's coast, where the calm brown water of the River Plate meets the open Atlantic. Playa Mansa, on the river side, has gentle water, while Playa Brava, on the ocean side, has strong surf and wind.
