Paul Kruger's house at no 60 Nkomo Street formerly known as Church Str. house with a galvanized Tin roof and a veranda is a museum containing the old original fitting furniture used by the Kruger family. Melrose House, in Jacob Mare Street, is the house where the signing of the Vereeniging Peace took place on 31 May 1902 to end the war of South Africa. George Heys the man of many mysteries, during the war the house was requisitioned by the British as the imperial headquarters in South Africa and it was turned into the residential of lord Roberts, the commander in Chief of the British forces.
