Kota Kinabalu City is the gateway to the Land Below the Wind. It is the state capital of Sabah. At 0930 hrs or 1400, pick up at the City hotel and proceed with a guided tour around the city tour. Situated near the sea, this majestic white mosque boasts similar features to the Nabawi Mosque in Medina. This floating mosque has a prayer hall which houses three madrasahs and accommodates from 9,000 to 12,000 people at a time. By far the largest mosque in Kota Kinabalu, the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque is even possibly the most beautiful one in Malaysia – the man-made lagoon which surrounds it gives a serenely gorgeous and dramatic look to the mosque on a full moon night.

About Kota Kinabalu
Kota Kinabalu is the capital of Sabah on Borneo, a coastal city facing offshore islands, with Mount Kinabalu rising on the horizon inland.
Kota Kinabalu sits on the north-west coast of Borneo, in the Malaysian state of Sabah, with a waterfront of markets, seafood restaurants and a long promenade. The islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman Park lie just offshore. On a clear day Mount Kinabalu, 4,095 metres high and the tallest peak in Malaysia, rises inland. The city was called Jesselton until the 1960s.
