About Jacksonville

Jacksonville, in north-east Florida, is a sprawling river city on the St Johns, with Atlantic beaches, parks, museums and a historic riverside.

Jacksonville straddles the St Johns River near the Atlantic, a river that flows north, and the consolidated city is the largest in the contiguous United States by area. Downtown's Riverwalk follows the riverbank, and neighbourhoods such as Riverside and Avondale have tree-lined streets, shops and early twentieth-century houses. The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens sits on the riverbank.
