5in the building of wisdom- the Library to the Gorge: My Hell's Gate Experience
While exploring my uni... library months ago, I stumbled upon Richard Crompton's thriller Hell's Gate. The book uses the park's eerie, steaming landscape as a silent witness to dark secrets, and standing there in person was just as spellbinding. Despite arriving in large numbers, our check-in was flawless. Our guide was exceptional, bringing the deep, sun-scorched gorges of the foot tour to life with such storytelling prowess that it felt like walking right through the vivid pages of the novel. BRIEF-i will write an essay better yet a book of my own
5Awesome experience!
This was one of the most beautiful and fun excursions we’ve done. I came in late June with my wife, mother in law and brother in law. Lake naivasha was breathtaking. And Hell’s Gate was gorgeous, we even got to rock climb. Our tour guide was Ruth. She was hilarious and extremely knowledgeable. She had great energy and my family really enjoyed working with her. I would recommend this excursion, the only thing to be cautious of is that the bike ride is realistically 8 km one way, so if you haven’t ridden a bike in a while, I’d opt out or at least get the e-bike option.
4Must-do: Hell's Gate bike ride
I thoroughly enjoyed the Hell's Gate bike ride and rock climbing experiences. Being sporty and adventurous, I love these types of activities. I think what's cool about the Hell's Gate experience is that it is a mix of cycling, learning about the place and animals as well and hiking. Also, you get to see the places that inspired The Lion King. The only frustrating thing is that most of the things you have to pay for, are not included in this package. At the entrance, you have to pay for your ticket, rent a bike and also pay for permission to ride the bike inside. You also have to pay separately for your lunch and for the boat ride, which is why I skipped it. Overall, I think what you are paying for on Viator is just transportation.
5A great balance of relaxation and adventure
My Full-Day Tour to Hell's Gate and Lake Naivasha from Nairobi with U.S.T Kenya exceeded every expectation I had. The journey started early, and the drive through the Great Rift Valley offered beautiful scenery before we even reached the park. Cycling through Hell's Gate while watching zebras and giraffes grazing nearby was an unforgettable experience that felt completely different from a traditional safari. Later, the peaceful atmosphere at Lake Naivasha provided the perfect contrast. The boat ride was calm, and seeing hippos and numerous bird species made the afternoon memorable. The entire day was well organized, moved at a comfortable pace, and allowed plenty of time to enjoy each activity without feeling rushed. I finished the tour with wonderful memories and hundreds of photographs.
5An Excellent Day Outside Nairobi
I wanted a day trip that combined wildlife, outdoor activities, and spectacular landscapes, and the Full-Day Tour to Hell's Gate and Lake Naivasha from Nairobi with U.S.T Kenya delivered exactly that. The highlight for me was walking and cycling through Hell's Gate National Park, where the dramatic cliffs and open plains created breathtaking scenery. Lake Naivasha added another special dimension to the trip with its peaceful waters and abundant wildlife. Watching fish eagles swoop across the lake while hippos rested nearby was something I will never forget. Everything throughout the day felt carefully planned, making it easy to simply enjoy the experience. This tour is ideal for anyone looking for an active yet relaxing escape from the city.
5More Than I Expected
Joining the Full-Day Tour to Hell's Gate and Lake Naivasha from Nairobi through U.S.T Kenya was the perfect way to spend a day away from the busy streets of Nairobi. Hell's Gate impressed me with its dramatic cliffs, open landscapes, and the rare opportunity to cycle through a national park surrounded by wildlife. Every corner offered another fantastic photo opportunity. Lake Naivasha was equally enjoyable, with its tranquil setting providing a relaxing end to an adventurous morning. The boat excursion gave us close views of birds and hippos without disturbing them. Everything flowed smoothly throughout the day, making the experience enjoyable from beginning to end. I would happily repeat this tour in the future.

About Naivasha
Naivasha is a lakeside town in Kenya's Great Rift Valley, beside a freshwater lake with hippos, birdlife, a volcano crater and a gorge park.
Naivasha lies in the Great Rift Valley nearly two thousand metres above sea level, beside Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake fringed with papyrus and acacia. Hippos graze along the shore at night, and fish eagles call over the water, which makes it a good place for boat trips among the birds. The surrounding land is a patchwork of farms, flower greenhouses and ranches.
