Elephant Trunk Hill (literally, “Elephant Nose Mountain”), is a natural karst rock formation situated along the junction of the Peach Blossom River and Li River in downtown Guilin. This park is considered emblematic of the city and is one of the first attractions that many travelers visit when exploring Guilin. If you are not good at walking, Elephant Trunk Hill may be the best for you. It's the lowest with a riverside park around it where you can appreciate the views.

A peaceful, leafty retreat from the city centre, the entrance fee for this famous pinnacle includes admission to a 14th-century Ming prince's mansion, now home to Guangxi Normal University. The 152m peak is a steep climb, but affords fantastic views of Guilin and its river.

The huge Reed Flute Cave is a garish but nonetheless impressive grotto housing multicoloured lighting and fantastic stalactites and stalagmites. About Guilin

Guilin, in Guangxi, is a river town among steep limestone peaks, best known for the Li River and the karst hills of classical Chinese painting.

Guilin lies in the north-east of the Guangxi region, where limestone peaks rise as steep green towers from flat fields and the Li River. The name means forest of sweet osmanthus, and the trees line its streets. In the city, Elephant Trunk Hill stands at the river's edge shaped like an elephant drinking, Reed Flute Cave glows with coloured light on its stalactites, and the Sun and Moon pagodas rise from a lake.
