Every year, in June, the largest traditional Nghinh Ong festival of the South Central Coast provinces takes place here. This is a festival to pray for peace and a good harvest of fish and shrimp for fishermen. About Phan Thiet
Phan Thiet is a fishing city on Vietnam's south-central coast, famed for fish sauce, red sand dunes and the beach resort of Mui Ne.
Phan Thiet lies at the mouth of the Ca Ty River in Binh Thuan province, a working port with a harbour full of blue fishing boats. The town is Vietnam's best-known producer of fish sauce, made from anchovies fermented in large barrels, and fishing, dragon fruit and tourism fill the economy.
