Best half-day tour for scenery. Your morning will be spent touring around some of the most spectacular scenery in the whole of the Lake District. This is a stress free, easy way to see a lot of the Lake District in a morning without feeling rushed. You have time to soak up the views and even paddle in a lake if you are brave enough. It is a great way for getting an overview of the Lake District, its culture, history and of course, its amazing scenery. You will get plenty of variety, see magnificent scenery, eat gingerbread and get all the facts, figures and fascinating stories from our friendly, knowledgeable guides and drivers who know the area well. Travelling in a comfortable mini-van with air con & phone charging ports as one of only 6/7 passengers you will find it is easy to ask questions and join in the conversation (if you want to). 5Professional, informative and humane
The morning 8-Lakes minibus tour was a relaxed, interactive delight, enhanced by Gillian's depth of knowledge and Sandra's expert driving around narrow lanes (and hosts of cyclists !). In four hours we gained not just knowledge, but a sense of the distinctive lifestyle that the terrain imposes on its inhabitants, not least the compromise between the tourism essential for local employment and the area's magnificent nature, which pleads for our constant respect. 5Great tour
We had an absolutely fantastic 8 Lakes in a Morning Half Day Tour with English Lakes Tours. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional and exceeded all our expectations. The scenery was simply breathtaking, and visiting eight beautiful lakes in just one morning was the perfect way to experience the stunning Lake District. The tour was well-paced, with plenty of opportunities to stop, take photographs, and enjoy the spectacular views without ever feeling rushed. A special mention has to go to Tim, our driver and guide. He was outstanding—friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about the Lake District. His fascinating stories, local history, and sense of humour made the journey just as enjoyable as the destinations themselves. Tim’s enthusiasm was infectious, and he went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt welcome and had a memorable experience. The minibus was comfortable, the itinerary was excellent, and everything was organised perfectly. If you’re looking for a wonderful way to explore the Lake District and learn more about its history and hidden gems, I can’t recommend English Lakes Tours highly enough. We would definitely book another tour and would be delighted to have Tim as our guide again. A truly five-star experience!

About Windermere
Windermere is England's largest natural lake and the Lake District town beside it, with lake steamers, high fells and literary homes close by.
Windermere is the largest natural lake in England, about seventeen kilometres long, its shores wooded and dotted with islands. The town of Windermere stands a little inland, and Bowness-on-Windermere on the water is the hub of boat life, with steamers and launches sailing to Ambleside at the head of the lake. A museum on the shore shows the lake's historic steam launches.
